The girl’s track team opened their outdoor season at the Hamilton Early Season Invite this evening and set some promising early season efforts in their first full-team action. Congratulations to Ireland Dewey for stepping on the track to compete in her first ever varsity track meet! The meet was also highlighted by a new school record; way to go Bailee Dilley! Baillee now owns Allegan’s pole vault record with an early season clearance of 11’1″, which is also a new lifetime best and worth meet champion honors! Bailee also set three other lifetime PRs in the 100m, 200m, and long jump, finishing in the top 4 in the meet in all three events. Jayden VandenAkker also had a strong showing, notching three 1st place finishes in 100m hurdles, 300m hurdles, and high jump. VandenAkker’s leap of 5’0″ in the high jump also set a new lifetime best. Anna Billman also earned PR honors in the 1600m with a time of 6:51.93 in only her second race of the season. Great job to the entire team and best of luck on 4-15 when we return from spring break
