PowerSchool Quick Start Guide

An APS PowerSchool account gives parents access to critical information that will help them monitor and ensure their student’s success. We have created this page to provide you with the resources you need to create, access, and manage your PowerSchool account as well as update your contacts so that you receive important school notifications.

Creating Your PowerSchool Account

If you do not have an Allegan Public Schools PowerSchool account:

  1. Make sure you have your student’s unique “Access ID” and “Access Password” that you should have received in the mail. If you haven’t received this information, contact your student’s school.
  2. Click here to visit PowerSchool.
  3. Click the “Create Account” tab and the blue “Create Account” button.
  4. Enter the required information under “Parent Account Details.”
  5. Under “Link Students to Account,” enter the “Student Name,” “Access ID,” and “Access Password” for your student.
  6. Click the blue “Enter” button at the bottom of the page.
  7. Ensure you can log into PowerSchool with your newly created account.

Accessing Your PowerSchool Account

If you already have an Allegan Public Schools PowerSchool account:

  1. Click here to visit PowerSchool.
  2. Log in with your parent username and password. If you have forgotten your username or password, click “Forgot Username or Password,” and follow the instructions.
  3. If you have a new or additional student attending Allegan Public Schools, contact your student’s school for instructions on adding that student to your PowerSchool account.
  4. Please take time to review the PowerSchool Parent User Guide to learn how to check grades, view attendance, receive important email notifications, etc. If you need to complete enrollment verification or back-to-school forms, please read these instructions.

After creating your PowerSchool account, you can use the mobile app to quickly access important student information. Click a button below to download the PowerSchool Mobile app:

When prompted, enter “DISTRICT CODE” BMRK, as seen in the image below.

Updating Your Contacts

If you are logged into the PowerSchool website with your parent account:

  1. On the left side of the screen, click “Forms.”
  2. Under the “General Forms” tab, click RET03. APS Student Contacts.” On this page you can add, edit, reorder, or delete your contacts.

If you are logged into the PowerSchool Mobile App with your parent account:

  1. At the bottom of the screen, click “More.”
  2. Click “Forms.”
  3. Scroll down, and click “RET03. APS Student Contacts.” On this page you can add, edit, reorder, or delete your contacts.
