Tiger Track Travels to Gobles for SAC Action

APS Track and Field

Despite the wind, rain and cold temps our Tigers put on a show tonight in Gobles!

Unfortunately, the girl’s team came up short against both Gobles and Watervliet on the evening. Even still, the team showed tremendous heart and put forth numerous strong efforts.

Against Watervliet Bailee Dilley led the way for the Tigers with four undividual 1st place finishes (200m, 400m, long jump, and pole vault). Dilley got support from Eliza DeLaet who had a 1st in the discus and a 2nd in the shot put and Nevaeh Williams who placed 1st in the 100m. Alyx Falor finished with a 2nd place in the high jump and a 3rd in the 100m hurdles, Aylah Copeland took 2nd in the 100m and Anna Billman notched a 2nd place in the 3200m. Team scoring was rounded out by the 400m Relay of Falor, DeLaet, Williams and Copeland who defeated Watervliet to take home the gold.

Against a tough Gobles squad, the Tigers fought hard, maximizing their team points where they could. Dilley once again was the top individual scorer, finishing with three 1st place finishes (200m, pole vault, long jump) and one 2nd (400m). DeLaet placed and scored with a 2nd in the shot put and a 1st in the discus. Other individual scorers included Williams with a 2nd (100m), Billman with a 2nd (3200m), and Falor with a 3rd (100m hurdles).

Congrats to our PR performers from the throwing squad, with Eliza DeLaeta (74’9″) and Odessa Barnhart (48’1″) both setting new lifetime bests in the discus!

The boy’s squad split their meets, defeating Watervliet but dropping a close meet to Gobles.

Kellen Chalupa led all scoring for the Tigers with two individual 1st place finishes (1600m, 800m) and two Relay 1st place finishes (1600m and 3200m). Against Watervliet other scoring finishers included Brody McDade placing 2nd in both the 100m and 200m, John DeLaet finishing 1st in the pole vault and 3rd in the 200m, Loghan Murphy with a 2nd (800m), Bradyn Kosiorowski with a 1st (400m), Chase Clemons 100m and 300m hurdles (2nd places) Thomas Sigler with a 1st (3200m), Hauk Henrickson with a 1st (shot put), Connor Dittenbir in the shot put (3rd) and discus (2nd), Brandon Thrash with a 3rd (high jump), Thomas Sigler 3200m (1st) and Nathan Martinez with two 2nds (400m, long jump).
