All In for APS
Allegan High School offered me the opportunity to take AP classes and participate in multiple extracurricular activities. The band experience was the most impactful, as I was able to make it into the competitive Michigan State University Marching Band.
During my freshman year at Western Michigan University, I felt leagues ahead of my peers, as did my fellow freshmen from Allegan. I assumed that everybody had access to the same level of educational excellence we did, but it was very clear that we had a head start thanks to the dedicated educators of APS.
Allegan Public Schools provided me with opportunities to grow educationally and as a person. The teachers were so dedicated to seeing their students succeed, and they pushed me to go into engineering.
The AP classes that I took at Allegan High School really gave me a head start when going to Grand Valley State University and then again when I got another degree from Southern New Hampshire University. For one, my writing skills were at a much higher level than some of my peers, which made college essays much easier.
The teaching staff are amazing. There is a culture of genuine caring and investment in students and a dedication to excellence in academics. APS set me up for success in college and beyond.
After attending three different high schools. Allegan High School was the fourth and last high school I would ever attend. Without the guidance, encouragement, and a second chance, I would have never graduated high school. I am proud to say I am a Tiger for life.
I made the best friends of my life at APS. It was a culture shock coming from Grand Rapids the summer before my junior year, but I gained confidence by joining chamber choir and participating in school functions. I wouldn’t be who I am today without Allegan High School, the teachers, the staff, and my classmates.
APS instilled in me a love of learning that carries through today. The teachers and administrators truly care about student success and left a lasting impression on me.
I chose my profession because of the amazing business teachers I had at AHS. I am forever grateful for the education I received and also for the music education I received through the band program. I still play the clarinet at church and am a community member player with the Hope College Concert Band.
Allegan Public Schools teachers were some of the most influential people in my life growing up. They love what they do, and it shows through their work!
I loved being an Allegan Tiger and being involved in the school spirit!
Thank you to the teachers that made such an impact on my life. Your positive attitudes, dedication, and guidance have influenced my career path today. I could not be more grateful for all the support in academics, but also for teaching me important life skills to be the best version of myself and to never give up. Thank you!
We experienced fun-loving K-8 teachers who crafted engaging lessons. Our high school teachers and coaches cared for the whole student. AP classes prepared us well for college. We thank APS for equipping us to become successful professionals.
My school career at Dawson, the middle school, and the high school was wonderful!
Mrs. Antoine is the best counselor and understands the students. I am happy she works with us.
