Antkoviak Named Wolverine Conference Female Track Athlete of the Year

On Saturday the girl’s track team traveled to Edwardsburg for the Wolverine Conference Championships. The Tigers finished 5th overall, tallying 58.2 points on the day. Hannah Antkoviak outdistanced herself from the rest of the conference by notching four individual first place finishes in the long jump, 100m, 100m Hurdles, and 300m Hurdles. Ayla Firer racked up a 2nd place finish in the shot put, just a couple inches shy of the leader. Firer and Antkoviak were the team’s lone medalists on the day. Other scoring finishes included: Taisja Edwards (100m), 400m Relay (Cervantes,Edwards,Garcia,Huber), 800m Relay (Cervantes,Edwards,Watson,Garcia), Firer (discus), and Heaven Watson (pole vault). Congratulations and great job!

A special congratulations goes out to Hannah Antkoviak who had an outstanding day of competition at he Wolverine Conference Championship track meet on Saturday. Her four individual first place finishes earned a unanimous selection as the Wolverine Conference Female Athlete of the Meet award. Hannah is also currently ranked 2nd in the state in the 300m Hurdles, 6th in the state in the 100m Hurdles, and 10th in the state in the long jump. Congratulations!
