Lady Tiger Track Run Strong at Allegan Invite

On Friday the Allegan Girls Track team competed in our very own Allegan Invitational.  The 17 team invitational brought plenty of strong competition and the Lady Tigers shined bright, coming through with 13 lifetime best performances and two new season personal records. At the end of the evening the girls had four medal-winnng performances to show for their efforts. Ayla Firer placed second overall in the discus, with a new PR of 98’5″. Firer also placed 8th and scored in the shot put.  Hannah Antkoviak brought the other three medals, placing 2nd in the long jump and 100m hurdles(15.43) and placing 1st in the 300m hurdles (46.61). Antkoviak set new lifetime bests in both races. Rounding out the scoring for the Tigers were to top finishes by the 400m Relay (Cervantes,Edwards,Garcia,Webb) and the 800m Relay (Cervantes,Antkoviak,Edwards,Garcia). The 800m Relay set a new season best as well. Sasha Mills put forth an outstanding effort in the 3200m, running a new lifetime best by nearly 30 seconds.  Her final time of 13:01.25 placed her 13th overall.  Kadence Wilhelm also placed a new personal best in the 1600m, running a 6:23.8. Hope Bartels and Christa Lambert had personal bests in the Shot put(25’10”) and discus(72’10”) respectively. Isabelle Antoine’s leap of 4’7″ also marked a new lifetime best I the high jump. n
The 3200m Relay (Mills, Wilhelm, Dangremond,Flynn) ran a new season best of 11:53.25. The 1600m Relay (Watson,Garcia,Houser,Webb) ended the night on a high note also running a season best of 4:45.27. Congratulations to all competitors!
