Bowling Has Strong Showing at Singles Tournament

Today was a double elimination singles tournament at Niles, Allegan boys took home a lot of hardware for the two divisions.
The Boys A Division had two Allegan bowlers, Layton Brown and Anthony Barnes as the last two undefeated bowlers going head to head Layton turned in his best game of the day beating Anthony 219 to 181. Layton was then seeded # 1 and Anthony # 2 and would await the two bowlers coming through the one loss bracket. Fletcher Beilfuss then defeated his Brandywine opponent 204 to 195, moving him on to face teammate Anthony next. Fletcher would avenge his only loss of the day by beating Anthony 193 to 154, Anthony finished 3rd. Now moving on to the number 1 seed another teammate Layton. Fletcher would need to beat Layton twice to win the bracket. Game one Fletcher won 210 to 169. In a winner take all match Fletcher won 205 to 169. It was awesome to see Allegan finish 1, 2 & 3 in the tournament.
Jacob Wesche had his season high game of 225 in the tournament.
In the Boys B Division was a battle of two freshmen Allegan bowlers. Trenton Nagelkirk defeated Shane Wesche in the finals of the winners bracket to seed himself #1 and Shane #2 going into the finals. James Page coming through the one lose bracket made it to the final 4. James in a close match lost 179 to 188 as his South Haven opponent struck out in the 10th leaving James with a 4th place finish. Shane Wesche then defeated South Haven 176 to 148 setting up a rematch between the two teammates. Shane would have to beat Trenton twice to win the bracket. Shane handily won game one with his best game of the day 209 to 149. The deciding game, the match was close until the last few frames as Trenton came out on top 157 to 134.
