Tiger Bowlers Drop Tough Matches

Allegan boys facing Sturgis at Sturgis, both teams came into the match undefeated. Game one was within 20 pins going into the ninth frame Sturgis put together multiple strikes by the entire team to pull ahead and win game one 1058 to 975, Allegan was led by Fletcher Beilfuss 238, Gunner Evans 230 and Jacob Wesche 191. Game two was also a very tight game this time Allegan finished strong led by James Page’s personal best of  221, Gunner 218 and Fletcher 207. Allegan won game two 972 to 926, Allegan beat their previous new school record set earlier this season with a new mark of 1947. The match now will be decided in the bakers, Sturgis came out on fire striking in the first six frames and secured the game, winning 252 to 149, Allegan won game two of the bakers 207 to 156. Final score was Sturgis 18 Allegan 12. This was the first loss of the season for the boys putting their Wolverine record at 3-1 and 9-1 overall.
Allegan Girls lost a heartbreaker to the Sturgis girls 18-12. In Game one Theresa Tice led the team with a 148 and Haylee Thompson 137, Sturgis finished strong in the tenth and won game one 614 to 600. Game two Allegan jumped into the lead and didn’t give it up winning 635 to 607, Haylee led the team with 168, Theresa 144 and Kelsey Clark 136. Allegan needed to win a baker game to win the match but struggled for spares. Sturgis won both baker games 122 to 93 and 124 to 106. Sturgis won the match 18 to 12, the loss dropped Allegan to 2-2 in the Wolverine and 6-4 overall.
Next match is at South Haven 1-17-19 for another Wolverine conference match.
