Allegan Boys facing South Haven started out the new year without missing a beat as they won game one 929 to 740. The team was led by Fletcher Beilfuss 217, Layton Brown’s 196, and Jacob Wesche’s 185. Game two was also in favor of Allegan 861 to 730, again Fletcher led the team with a 195, and Gunner Evans 178. Allegan won both baker games 168 to 146 and 147 to 146. The match ended Allegan 29 to South Haven 1.
Allegan Girls were facing Brandy Wine in a very close match. Allegan won Game one 660 to 617. The girls were led by Cambria Rader’s 150, Haylee Thompson’s 146 and Kelsey Clark’s 135. Game two went to Brandywine 660 to 584, Theresa Tice led the team with a 153, Haylee added a 146. Allegan needed both baker games to win the match, Game one came down to the tenth Allegan finished strong to win the game 163 to 153. Game two the girls came out on fire as they marked in each of the first five frames and coasted to an easy win 169 to 118. Final score of Allegan 19 Brandywine 11.
Match 2
Allegan Boys were facing the second place Niles team. Game one was tight for the first 8 frames, Gunner Evans started with the first 7 strikes to start the game and finished with a 268 game, Layton Brown had 200 and Fletcher added a 195 as Allegan won game one 968 to 874. Game two both teams struggled as the lane conditions broke down and splits were abundant going onto the 9th frame Allegan held a slim 20 pin led. All of the boys determined not to let the game slip away made some adjustments and Allegan pulled away late winning 778 to 644. Baker games were a split as Niles won game one 175 to 153, and Allegan won game two 188 to 142. Final score Allegan 24 to Niles 6, Allegan improved to 6-0 in the Southern Lake Michigan High School Bowling Conference and 9-0 overall. The next match is against Sturgis in Sturgis for the Wolverine Conference.
Allegan Girls facing Niles started with a great game one winning 620 to 467, The team was led by Theresa Tice’s 155 game, Kelsey Clark’s 137. Game two was closer but Allegan again came out on top winning 539 to 471, Haylee Thompson was high with 127. Allegan took both baker games winning 124 to 87 and 115 to 101. Final score Allegan 27 Niles 3. Allegan Girls improved to 4-2 in the Southern Lake Michigan High School Bowling Conference and 6-3 overall.
