This year we have had the opportunity to add more supports for students! Below, is a brief list of exciting opportunities and supports we have in place, some new and others continuing from years past.
Tigers Talk: Tigers Talk groups run during Tigers period. During these small groups we work together on a variety of social or emotional supports, positive peer relationship building skills, positive vs. negative attention seeking skills, resilience and tolerance skills, and so much more. We’re hoping every student will have the opportunity to join a group before the end of the year.
Sensory Circuits: We live in a fast paced world where slowing down and focusing can be challenging. Students now have the opportunity to join us for a sensory break throughout their day. We also have focus tools available for students if needed.
Homework Hub: We now offer students the opportunity to get a pass from any teacher to visit the Homework Hub after they eat lunch. Here, they can work on completing assignments, studying for assessments, reading in a quiet place, etc. We even have cadet teachers from the high school who come over to assist students as needed.
Tigers Prep: COMING SOON! Tigers Prep focuses on basic test-taking skills to help students show their true potential on common formative assessments (CFA), standardized tests, summative assessments, quizzes, etc.
Student Closet: We now have our very own closet stocked with clothes, shoes, toiletries, school materials, etc. for students in need. From any device, students, teachers, and/or family members can make a request by going to the bottom of the L.E. White website and clicking on the gray “Student Closet Request” button.
Outstanding Staff Recognition: From any device, you can acknowledge a staff member by going to the bottom of the L.E. White website and clicking on the gray “Outstanding Staff Recognition” button.
Incident Report: From any device, students can report an incident by going to the bottom of the L.E. White website and clicking on the gray “Middle School Incident Report” button.
Counseling Request: From any device, students who need to see a counselor can make a request by going to the bottom of the L.E. White website and clicking on the gray “Request to see a Counselor” button.
Top Tiger Grade Notification Emails: Monthly, we recognize our students who are earning A’s and B’s in all of their classes. These students and their parent(s)/guardian(s) will receive a congratulatory email.
Grade Notification Emails: Each week an email goes out to the students, and their parent(s)/guardian(s), who are failing one or more classes. The emails offer suggestions for next steps in hopes of improving their grade as well as contact information for their teacher, and support staff.
