At Pine Trails, STEM activities are under way! What is “STEM” you ask? STEM education is a research-based approach to learning where academic ideas are combined with real-world lessons so students can apply Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics in school and/or home based situations. On Friday, September 7th, Mrs. Penny’s 3rd grade class were given 1 (one) sheet of blue paper and 12 (twelve) inches of masking-style tape. The goal was to see who could make the longest paper chain in the class. The students had to think and find out the best way to cut and tape multiple rings! It was quite the challenge, but they definitely rose to the occasion! Way to go, class!
