Last night the girl’s track team closed out their team season at the Wolverine Conference Championships, scoring 71 points and finishing 5th overall in the meet and on the season. The meet was marked by numerous top performances, as well as new personal bests. Delanie Nahikian topped off a great senior season with a conference championship in the 400m dash with a time of 1:02.35 Peyton Lake was a conference champion, winning both the 100m hurdles(15.69) and 300m hurdles (48.28) and 5th in the 100m(13.18). Alyss Cherry placed 3rd in the shot put with a throw of 30’10”. Finishing 4th in the 300m hurdles was Christina Cervantes; her time was a 50.57. Alesandra rounded out the 300m hurdles with a 52.95 and a 7th place overall. Taisja Edwards finished tied for 3rd in the 100m (13.18) and 6th in the 200m (28.15). The 800m relay of Cervantes, Edwards, Nahikian, and Webb ran an impressive time of 1:53.72 and placed 4th. Webb, Antkoviak, Edwards, and Britton teamed up for an 8th place finish in the 400m relay (54.36). Finishing the night, the 1600 relay of Nahikian, Cervantes, Lake, and Watson finished 3rd and in a season best of 4:20.83. The girls made the most of the great weather and competition by achieving 11 PRs! They were racked up by Peyton Lake, Delanie Nahikian, Christina Cervantes, Taisja Edwards, Alesandra Garcia, Alyssa Cherry, Sasha Mills, and Baillie Morton. Outstanding job ladies and congratulations!
