It was a strong showing on another night of dismal weather. Nonetheless, the Lady Tigers fought hard, medaling in several events and saw 4 teammates qualify for the state meet! Peyton Lake was a regional champion and state qualifier in the 100m hurdles and also placed second and qualified in the 300m hurdles as well. Hannah Antkoviak finished second in the long jump with a leap of 15’10”, which was also a state qualifying performance. Delanie Nahikian performed well in the 40Om, running to a strong 3rd place finish and a new season best. Alyssa Cherry medaled and scored with a 7th place finish in the shot put. Christina Cervantes placed and medaled individually in two events, finishing 6th in both hurdle races. Taisja Edwards had a strong showing in the 100m dash, finishing in 6th place overall. Heaven Watson rounded out the individual scoring with a 6th place finish in the 800m run. The 800m relay team of Antkoviak, Lake, Edwards, and Nahikian finished 2nd in a state qualifying race and time of 1:50.64. Antkoviak and Edwards teamed up with Cervantes and Watson in the 400m relay for a 6th place finish. Lastly, the 1600m relay of Nahikian, Cervantes, Lake, and Watson placed 4th overall and ran a 4:28.78. PRs went to Cherry, Cervantes, Nahikian, Lake, and Antkoviak.
