Principal’s Message - Allegan High School

It’s the Busiest Time of the Year

As April arrives it brings with it the busiest time of the year for AHS! State testing occurs the week after we return from Spring Break, and the rush continues from there.

May will open with Parent-Teacher Conferences from 3:30-6:30 PM on May 2. AP testing occurs the first couple of weeks into May. This also leads us to spring concerts with the Symphonic Band performing on the 17th at 7 PM and the K-12 Art Show also opens that day from 4:30–7 PM in the Performing Arts Center. The Art Show will offer a second opportunity to view K-12 artwork on May 21 from 4-6 PM. The Spring Choral Concert will be held on May 24 at 7 PM in the Performing Arts Center. AHS Awards Night–where we recognize both academic achievement and scholarships–will be held on May 21 at 7 PM in the Performing Arts Center.

May continues with the Graduation of the Class of 2018. The senior class officers have been busy working with the Allegan Ministerium on the Baccalaureate Service that will take place on Sunday, May 20 at 3 PM in the Performing Arts Center. Graduation of the Class of 2018 will take place on Thursday, May 31 at 7 PM in Tiger Stadium (or the AHS Main Gym in case of inclement weather).

The school year comes to a close with 3rd Trimester Final Exams on June 6 (Hours 1-3) and June 7 (Hours 4-6). We will be offering summer school credit recovery again this year beginning June 18 and ending on July 20. More information about summer school will be available shortly.

As you can tell, the rush is on, but what a great school year it has been! Please help us keep your student focused on learning. It is important that while this time of the year is extremely busy for everyone, the most important part of school is learning. Thank you for your support, and GO TIGERS!
