Allegan Tigers Swim Team Defeats Hastings, Remains Undefeated in Conference

The Allegan Tigers swim team secured a commanding victory over Hastings on Saturday, with a final score of 105-73. This win continues their undefeated streak, bringing their conference record to 4-0.

The Tigers’ individual event winners included Maddie Antoviak, who dominated both the 100 backstroke and 100 butterfly, Bella Festerling in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke, Grace Kelley with a win in the 50 freestyle, Lilli Kelley in the 200 freestyle, and Lizzy Ehrich, who triumphed in the 500 freestyle.

Second-place finishes came from Mari Nistal Palacios in the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke, Lilli Kelley in the 100 butterfly, Audrey penrod in the 500 freestyle, Eliza DeLaet in the 100 breaststroke, and Bailee Dilley in 1-meter diving, Lizzy Ehrich in the 50 freestyle and Grace Kelley in the 100 freestyle.

Allegan also swept the relays, winning the 200 medley relay (Antkoviak,Penrod, Festerling, Barnhart), as well as both the 200 freestyle (DeLaet, Barnhart, Grace Kelley, Ehrich) and 400 freestyle (Lilli Kelley, Grace Kelley, Zoey Hammer, Bella Festerling) relays.

This season, the Allegan Tigers have demonstrated a remarkable combination of skill and teamwork, consistently supporting each other to reach new heights. Their dedication to improvement, both individually and as a team, has been a key factor in their success. With a strong bond among the swimmers, their collaborative spirit and hard work continue to yield impressive results in and out of the pool.

Allegan’s next challenge will be an away meet against Marshall on Tuesday, October 8, at 6:00 PM.
